21 years old.
Hawaii
paying 600 every 6 months.
with one speeding ticket.

this is what the insurance lady told me. and you guys should maybe try it or ask about it.
so, what i was told/did is to get a preferred plan thru your parent's insurance company (but a separate plan from your parents for your own car), and put your self as the primary.
then after you get the preferred plan. take your father's or mother's name off the insurance. and you keep the low rate.

i hope that made sense.

with out doing that the lowest rate i would have had is 1000 every 6 months.

I have access to several insurance DBs through work and put together a quick graph of average S2k insurance costs based geographic region. The tabs at the bottom show the historical data back to 2007

Why the **** do these threads keep popping up? Ask your insurance company. You'll get a far more accurate answer.
