Yeh Nick, I was well chuffed with that price, i was starting to get quite annoyed at the figures on the table.

As for the commuting...I dont commute out of london, i just drive outside of the smoke for fun. I work in Central London as an Architectural Management Consultant - get to the office on a 'traffic-beating' scooter :-)

What do you do?

I'm in upstate New York and I pay roughly $1,700 per year through progressive. I'm 21 years old with two points on my license.

The road was wet and I was coming off a wide roundabout onto a dual carriageway which curved to the left over a slight incline. Coming out of the rdb, I moved from the inside to the inside lane of the dual carriageway (taking the racing line if you like), when the back end broke out to the right. I corrected and applied power but that caused the rear to fish tail to the left and sent the car sliding right-to-left. I then hit the kerb and damaged the underside of passenger door, as well as the rear wing and the door itself.

To add insult to injury the car came to rest by *just* hitting a post, and dinged the front wing too Damage was fortunately only cosmetic, we were OK and the car was still driveable, but it sure taught me a lesson about driving in the wet - like it's on eggshells. I didn't think I was going too fast or making too sudden a movement, but obviously I was wrong... there may have been a bit of oil or something else on the road to make it extra slippery.

I don't know how much it cost to repair in the end (insurace took care of everything) but a quote I got was about

$377/month
3 Cars, year round

$500 deductible

2000 S2000
1994 Integra GS-R
1987 325E Sedan

$1,000,000 liability

30 Day rental of same or equivalent vehicle, no charge

26 years old, married, living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Funny, because my 1999 Mazda Miata (which the stook replaced) bumped my premium up to $392/month...When I got the new rate, I did not question it - but I'd like to know, is the Miata higher theft rate or something?

I notice a lot of the US cars are modified by their owners for greater performance.

U K insurance companies hate this and it becomes real hard to get insured

How do US insurance companies react?
