insurance question
hello im here to ask for some input for my situation with insurance company now
recently i was involved in an accident,
drunk driver T boned my S2000 CR on the passenger side so i took my car to Marcos bodyshop in south pasadena CA
after the first estimate, i authorized for the bodyshop to work on my car.
but shop found out additional damages on the metal sheet underneath of seats and between the dashboard and the engine bay... insurance company wanted to tear apart the car to the point where they cant find any additional damages...
so finally the bodyshop completed the estimate today
a long story short, i decided to take my car to somewhere else but insurance company told me im responsible for the storage fee in order to get my car out
but i thought it was their job to tear my car apart to find all the possible damages and they are finally done with that today
do i really have to pay that storage fee?
standard storage fee and towing coverage is 250 under my policy
but its their job to take my car apart to find all the damages because they saw the possibility of my car getting total loss
even the bodyshop that my car is currently in, they told me its insurance responsibility to pay for the storage the the day its done with its final estimate and inspection but my insurance is denying to pay for them
i need Help
any inputs will be appreciated

I would imagine it is the insurance's responsibility to pay, if it was their decision to tear the car apart further, and a shop they recommended.
If either of those two were not the insurance's decision, then all bets are off.
Since you took it somewhere else, if that shop is not the insurances recommendation, or to take it somewhere else is their recommendation, I can see the insurance company taking the stand that the first shop's bill for storage is not their responsibility.

I think it should be there responsibility. Since the car had to be torn apart to look for further damages i dont understand why the insurance company would not pay for that??? Stick to your guns i am sure they will pay for it all
insurance company still refused to pay for the storage fee
cuz thats the shop i chose to take my car and they wouldnt have to pay that storage fee if i want my repairs done there...i told them it was your decision to see to tear my car apart to the point they cant find any more damages but they still said they are not responsible
im just stuck in the middle wanting to get my car out there and get it repaired by somewhere but i dont really wanna pay 2000 out of my pocket just for the storage fee
