Default Insurance Rates...holy cow

When I graduated from High School in 1985 I received a Mustang GT.... My insurance rates at 17 years old were around 900 bucks every six months...

Now, I'm 34 years old, no tickets, no accidents within the three to five year period that insurance companies look for......and the premiums I've been quoted for this S2000 are 900 bucks every six months.

I just used that Geico direct deal online....they want 1982.00 every six months... I say they should spend less on television advertising and get their premiums inline..

Both State Farm and Shelter (whom my homeowners insurance is with) are in the 900.00 range.

I know Louisiana typically has high rates compared to the rest of the country but I find this to be extremely high.

I have a lady friend with a 1999 M Roadster and she's paying 400 a month.... that makes me sick!

geico sucks ass...they wanted $4,000/6 months to insure my ITR. umm yeah, ok.

state farm is decent, especially if you can get multi-line discounts for another car, life insurance, renter's ins. etc.

That's strange. My S2000 is a second car and house and both cars with State Farm. I'm 35 unmarried (oh thank you Lord) and I pay about $700 a year full coverage.

What are your deductibles?

Try getting some quotes at http://www.insweb.com for quotes from just about every company in the business.

All of my quotes came in lower than what Farmers Insurance wanted to charge me. I ended up saving $350/6mo. on my car, and $500 total for our 3 cars.

Good luck,
Tanq

My car will be registered under my business. Unfortunately insweb.com does not give quotes to commerical vehicles.

the levels of coverage are medium...nothing too extravagant.

I think it's the typical Louisiana litigation system....and our corrupt law makers again.

I have got my insurance with USAA. I don't know if you or family have been in the military, but you have to be or have been to get their services. I pay about $600 every six months. I am 29, with 1 wreck and many many tickets that are probably off my record by now. I have another car on the account so maybe that helps, but I think that they are the lowest around.

hmm, I pay $1200 per 6 months for 3 cars with Geiko. 2 full coverage + 1 liability but all have above min requirements + roadside etc. I'm 25. You might wanna call them up.

I just got my ins. quote and it's $6/6mo less than the exact same coverage on my Eclipse Spyder GS-T. I even had the Spyder LoJacked...
