Default Intake snorkel

okay here it goes.. well i want to get the j's snorkel for the oem hood but i live on a dusty and i really mean dusty road. I mean you literally cant see shiznit when a car is driving in front of you... i cant even keep my car clean after driving on the road 1 time.. from the main road its about half a mile to my house.. i drive on it for about 3 mintutes till i get to my house.. mind you this is the only way in... but i was just wondering will it cause any trouble to get the snorkel and have this kind of dust.. cuz i know the snorkel sits right in the grill part.. and thats where alot of dusty accumlates from the front tires

thanks for you answers

lol sorry, i'm sure it cant be good, i mean to shove that much dust in the intake cant be good, you'll be clogging filters up left and right. this would be my educated guess, any one please feel free to correct me as i am not a certified mechanic or anything like that

i'd say dont drive on the dusty road (sorry) but i'm sure you could get away with any intake, just be sure to keep a super close eye on the filter. that would really suck to get such a dirty filter that particles are sucked in...who knows what could happen then.

buy an AEM v2. now youll have a nice K&N filter on the end, and it can handle tons of dirt. clean it every 3 months. youll be just fine.

i dont think it's the same with any intake. others would take up air from inside the engine bay which wouldn't have as much dust floating around in the air. but putting the snorkel would make it suck air directly from outside which is filled with dust.

maybe you could attach a sprinkler to the front of your car

A snorkel would be a very bad idea, it would mess up the airbox on a otherwise stock car driving normal public roads.

If you're stuck on getting something, getting a washable filter like the K&N is a good investment since it's going to get trashed really fast.
