Ok someone correct me if i'm wrong here.... But i was thinking of getting the
Garage Defend radiator plate. For $ 300.00 it basically does the same
thing. And where i live it gets jungle hot so it prevents heat soak, and looks
pretty good too.

Bill
Get the AUT design plate;same thing for 1/2 price.
Check ''groupbuy forum'',Import Garage Tuning, tell Gary,Emil sent you.!!!

just cut/remove the factory air guide that is in there and in return you will have the equivalent to a snorkel, with a grill size opening

I think Emil meant $300, not $3000... hehe

AEM V1 is okay, which is similar to K&N and Injen. They are basic cold-air intakes. Not a heat soak issue, but can be a hydrolock problem if you live in the PNW or somewhere else very rainy. $$250+/-. Maybe 2-3 hp.

AEM V2 and Comptech give similar gains, and they are priced similarly $250-$350). Different styles, but similar gains and prices. Maybe 3-4 hp.

ARC is not worth the money if you want power. Maybe 1 hp.

A Spoon (or style) snorkel with a radiator plate cutout for it along with a high flow filter is a GREAT choice. Not the best looking under the hood, but it will not hydrolock, does not suffer from heat soak, has great throttle response, isn't too expensive, and same power as many others. Maybe 2-4hp. J's is also like this, but a bit more advanced with the huge CF tubing, so relatively it might be at 5hp???

Don't count on my HP as dyno proven. That is just my guess on butt dynos, other opinions, and for a rough comparison!
