Default Interesting experience with a truck owner..

I was heading into downtown city from my house after a long party weekend with my business partner and some friends. I wanted to cruis in 70 degree weather with a light breeze with the top down. I drove around for about an hour, and for those of you who don't reside in Chicago the city - at night especially on a holiday weekend, it is SWARMED. As I made it down one of their busy busy roads- Michigan Avenue, I saw a truck out of the corner of my eye and mind you I'm minding my own busienss, listening to some Avicii at volume level 9, so nothing loud or whatever, and the owner leans out of his bone stock 2012 Ford F150 and goes, "your car sucks, my truck is way better" and I just immediately replied, "yeah buddy, size matters when you are trying to compensate for what you lack". He never replied.

My thing is, what's with people thinking us as owners are trying to be showoffs or whatever? Any one else ever encounter these type of things with other drivers? I had this happen to me a lot too when I ride (600rr track/250r track-commute/1000rr track). Interesting.

On a different note, same night, as I was turning near Buckingham Fountain I heard a group of guys go, "Holy shit that is one sick ass s2000..." (my car is stock just lowered with led fogs and 6k headlights).

I was truly one with the road that night, had a bit of fun on the highway but drove safely for 99% of the time... a feeling like no other.

Thank you My s2000,
<3 Jeff.

Its just life. There are some shitty people out there. No real logic or reason behind it some people just suck.

I went to car show this weekend. I was the only Japanese car there. First guy to say anything to me is literally as I am getting out of the car. "Cute car" is what he said and I just wanted to punch him right in his old fat face. But instead I just said thanks and went about my business. I drive my car because I love it. Not for what other people think about it or to make others happy. If they like it then great if not the can go fist themselves to death.

as they say....haters gon' hate!

on a serious note though, just ignore people. most of the time they just want to get a rise out of you. if that would have happened to me, i would have just made something up like.....yeah man, i have an F350 which would put your f150 to shame. cool heh? and just drove away.

I've had a few things like this, but nothing too bad. A few weeks ago a mustang driver yelled out "Honda Sucks!" across the parking lot while I was getting into my car.

I get some good and bad remarks, but regardless, It's one good looking car - and even better to drive!

The endless neck breaking I get makes up for the negative comments 10 fold. People are just insecure and want to make you insecure about you have that they don't. Laughing it off makes it that much sweeter.

I get looks non stop, being a very rare Laguna blue in Canada helps too. I know my car is great and so it makes me laugh to hear those kinds of things said to me, and find it funny. I laugh harder when it is stuff I havent heard before, which usually isnt the case.

You get rednecks in Chicago too hugh, lol. Id love to have an F150 as a second vehicle though. You get good and bad everywhere. Next time pull a Cheech and Chong and tell them to get their vehicle back to the circus before they find out its missing, lol.

It's happened to me here in san antonio. I was downtown a couple weeks ago at night with the top down at a red light and 2 hill billys pull up next to me in a diesel f250 and ke starts talking smack and tells me to run em, I laughed and then he goes what you got in that piece of s**t and I just tell him to f**k and that he must not have a brain if he's trying to run with someone in the middle of downtown where there's people walking all over the place. He then peels out to stop again in the next red light that was like 1000 feet away and then he does a full burnout in the middle of a busy intersection where there's cops all around downtown. Some people just don't have a brain. I wished so bad that he would have been pulled over but he didn't. Oh well
