I'm not going to read the thread... I already know how such threads highlight the differences between those that are car enthusiasts and those that aren't.

For one, anyone who's distaste for a particular car is based on a fabricated correlation with the owner's sexual preference is NOT a car enthusiast.

I like the Evo and it's a beast but I just don't like the interior, although that shouldn't matter much in a performance car. I like to have my cake and eat it too.

I went from Evo to S2k and they're 2 different cars to even get into comparison.

everything about the both cars are different, except for the fact that they're both made in japan.

I went 12.4 in my Evo with 4 wheels spinning and I loved that for a while. I loved playing with my AEM EMS, I love the fact that the car handled incredibly well and stable at any speed, and ample room it had. That and there was practically no one, other than those porsche, ferrari and lambo guys, that would dare line up to you at the strips.

but s2000, you almost don't even need that much power, because even though you're going slow, with the top down it feel faster and it's a better looking car than the Evo in a way that it embodies the idea sports car layout and looks (rwd, long front short rear, mid engine layout).

I got the s2000 after the Evo, because I didn't want to get into too much trouble and just enjoy driving and it's very good in that way. I agree it's day and night when it comes to straight line speeds, but honestly, straight lines are boring. At a stock trim with no modification whatsoever, I could go again modded Evo's with a decent driver behind it just with a set of hoosiers. I'm talking AS vs SM.

but i have to disagree that s2k will be so much better when you FI it, because in order for you to put that power down, you need to do a lot of work and also FI cars drive differently in the corners than NA cars, so more power you have, more compromise you have to make when cornering and work harder so your rear don't slip out or tires spin out.

but evom's been shitty for last 2 years or more. i was member there for 4 years and I agree, i like s2k community better. Only thing Evom's good for is selling and buying used parts and group buys. everyone thinks they're some sort of god because they could drive a little, not knowing that AWD car is just about the easiest car layout to drive because it's that much forgiving than FWD or RWD cars for rookie drivers. but let me add that if you do know how to drive, with slight modded trim, Evo will make you fall in love with it and make your heart pump harder than you've ever been.

let me just put it this way. My friends (all drive evo's) and I park somewhere, I get more compliments and looks on my s2k than his MR with ton of mods on it. plus, girls just can't get enough of this car.

if i believed that thread, i'd be thinking at this point anyone who drives an e30 m3 or lotus elan must be a flaming drag queen.

people will get condescending to justify their big purchases, i suppose, but some of them take it pretty far.

and yes, it's pretty easy to tell the enthusiasts in that group.

Just don't take it personally and u'll be fine. We had plenty of bashings within ourselves with ap1 vs ap2 craps. Maybe they have more with so many versions of evos lol.

There will always be people out there with ultra-polarized points of view. "NEENER NEENER I CAN'T HEAR YOU." Whatever.

But I found the comment saying the Evo was more of a driver's car to be particularly amusing. S2000's didn't even have traction control until what, 06?

WOW!!! Some of those ppl need to grow up. You can almost tell who the youngins are just by reading their immature post.

Both cars are great. Different class to be comparing and which some of them dont understand. Both cars were built for different purposes, and they were both built very well for it. It all comes down to preference and it's surprising to see at how so many fanboys bashing him.

I agree, we've had are share here, but our mods have done a superb job before it got way out of hand. . Oh well, maybe when some of those fanboys mature they'll realize that not everything they own is the greatest thing in the world.
