Interior conversion ?
Hey guys got a question (did quite a few searches and didnt come up with much):
on the pre'04 models that came in gran prix white the only color interior option available was red (or tan for the '03s) from what I remember. No offense to the red interior owners but I just dont find it appealing. I am really interested in purchasing a 02-03 gran prix white s2k but I am considering other colors if the interior would be too difficult to switch to black. If someone has direct experience with this conversion please let me know what is involved. Also, if someone could post a red interior shot showing everything it would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!
-Brett
edit:
ok after doing some more research I have made a list of things needing to be replaced:
1) Seats
2) Carpet
3) Door panels
with the door panels would I be able to replace the red accents themselves or would I have to replace the entire door panel?
Anything else that Im missing?

your missing the center vinyl piece the goes under the center console and the 2 square pieces that connect to it that are hidden behind the seats.
the conversion isnt difficult at all, just buy plenty of tabs (they hold the center trim and carpet in).
Everything is really straight foward with most things such as the carpet and center pieces pinned in with tabs and door panels pops off after you unscrew 3 screws. Feel free to PM if you have any other questions, but it's pretty easy!
With the door panels, you can replace just the insert if you can find it.
ps. you will have to cut the center trim behind the radio and under the console to get it out, but its all covered up with the radio and the center console, so no one will see it.

Red interior to me is the hottest color. I have a black interior on my 02 and can't wait to change my black interior to red as the black is a little to boring for me (just my opinion). If you were local we could just exchange parts.

Ur car interior looks hot!! I have a GPW and wish it come with black/red combo. Can you please tell me where did you buy or get the interior door panel and the red carpet?
I remember going to a site before that had a diagram of all the interior pieces as well as honda part numbers and pricing for them in all the different colors.
do you guys know this site? please link me if you can.
I am looking to get rid of my tan with all new oem pieces, just depends on the price.

You will NOT like the prices from Honda I promise you. For example, they don't sell the seats as an assembly, you need to buy them piece by piece and when it's all done it costs well over $4000. JUST the leather seat covers are over $1,000. Custom leather would cost you less.
I bought a set of used Red seats, then sold my black seats to help defray the costs and it ended up costing me about $300, including the shipping of both sets. Go to your local forum and look for someone to swap with. They will offer you cash on top of their interior to make the deal.
I've heard about the crazy seat prices, I should have specified that I wanted everything except the seats. For those I'd be going aftermarket.
I am looking for the carpet, floor mats, door panels, and center console leather piece. I remember pricing it out on the website I mentioned and it came out to be about $1200 for the things I listed.
I figured I can then sell off my tan pieces and it wouldn't be unbearably expensive if you dont count the aftermarket seat costs.
anyone else know the site I'm talking about? They had diagrams like inside a service manual and part numbers on the bottom shopping-cart style
