Invidia guy's, I need help fast help?
Thinking of ordering tonight and I have read that the Invidia exhaust drones, but is it at any throttle position between 3K-4K rpm? Or is it at those rpm settings with the throttle opened to accelerate? What I'm trying to find out is, is the drone there during normal steady cruising at those rpms, or is it only when you accelerate in gear from those rpms? If that is the case, it seams you could manage the drone buy down shifting to accelerate. Is this the case?
Thanks.
Thanks.
only drones when your giving it partial throttle between 3-4k rpms. If your almost neutral on the throttle the drone goes away.
Short answer, yes I find the drone very easy to control. If its a little much you can always get a testpipe to kill some of the drone out.

I love the sound of it from the sound clips, but I drive on the freeway allot and I don't want to be miserable.
Thanks.
If you are even a little bit concerned about droning, don't get the Invidia. The Invidia is one of the most obnoxiuosly loud exhaust out there. That is why you always see lots of used Invidia exhaust for sale cheap.
My problem is that I want an exhaust and I am tired of waiting for someone other than Invidia to make one that fits the 2006 S2000 with out any modifications.
If Comptech or HKS would get their act together for 06 owners I would buy one in a hart beat.
Sorry, but I am frustrated with the lack of after market exhaust support for the 2006!

You say "if your almost neutral on the throttle" does that mean barely on the gas, or off the gas? Or does that mean on the throttle steady at 3K-4K rpms? Can you cruise at a constant speed between 3K-4K rpm with out drone? And then you get the drone when you increase the throttle pressure only to accelerate? Just trying to fully understand before I order.

You do seem a bit nervous about the drone. I won't lie, it is loud and especially for the first week (while you adjust and while the carbon builds up on the piping) your going to think to yourself "how am I going to live with this." Truth be told, it will get quieter and you'll get used to it. I'm only 19 so I don't mind the loudness at all but even my 60 year old dad doesn't mind it to much anymore now that I have the testpipe on (cuts a lot of the drone out at cruising).
Best part is everyone (and I mean it) will tell you at WOT it is one of the sickest sounding cars out there hands down. For that comment, I'll deal with the drone

Bad ass sound comes with a price although you can wrap and soundproof your way to a happy medium.
Nice thing about LOUD exhausts is that you can always find someone willing to part with them cheap
