It's HERE, It's HERE, My S2000 is HERE!!!!!
I finally got a call from my dealership at 7am this morning, my S2000 is here! They said I wouldn't get it till Tuesday, but it arrived on a truck full of Pilots and CRV's this morning! This car is so much fun to drive! I've already put 90 miles on it since I took possession of it with 12 miles on the odo, and i'm off the drive it around some more! Anyone wanna come with me for a spin?
Hoo Hoo! I thought my car would never get here!
My transmission seems to grind a little going into second gear, but my dealer told me to give it about 600 miles to see if it goes away. Now that I have 90 miles on it, it doesn't grind as bad as it originally did when I first drove off the lot............

Of the last 3 new cars that I bought, one was rear ended at 2 weeks old with 750 miles on it, one was hit by a New York City taxi while it was parked at 3 weeks old and 1100 miles, and one got it's windshield shattered on I-287 in New Jersey when the car in front kicked up a pebbled at 1 week and 450 miles. I'm not superstitious but my S goes into the garage and stays there unless I really need/want to take it somewhere. So far, I have even refused to take it out in the rain.
I do agree that it is a fine car that demands to be driven, but with my luck I think I'll let our relationship develop slowly over time.
At least in the garage, I can admire it in one piece!

Well, just got back in! I have now totalled 153 miles of driving my S2000 on it's first day! The fuel guage is halfway between the 1/4 and 1/2 mark, so I guess it's doing pretty good gas mileage wise. This car absolutely begs to be driven, and I just love how the seat grabs your ass like a pervert no matter how hard you shake the car around! In my Lightning, I was literally sliding all over the place when taking corners hard! So far, i've only hit 5500rpms as i'm making sure i'm at least 500rpms shy of the forbidden zone during break in. The Xenon HID lamps really make night driving a whole lot more fun! Yow, never knew how much of the road I could never see before since all my previous cars had the old halogen headlamp systems!

I put almost 500 miles on mine since I picked it up Louisiana and drove it back to Austin. I then drove up to see my family in Tulsa, OK for the 4th of July and by the time I got back to Austin four days later, I had 2000 miles on it!!! I'm taking it a little easier now, but I still have 4000 miles on it in two months. Have fun with your new toy!
