Talking It's like 2 days before Christmas...

I can't take the waiting anymore!! 2 more days... grrrrr.

I purchased an '02 Berlina Black S with 32,000 miles last Friday!!!
I decided to fly out to Houston to pick it up, but because of work I have to wait until this Friday....

For the last 5 days all I can think about is this damn car... I want it sooo bad, I can taste it. I even went out for a test drive on an '05 on Saturday, just to get "the feeling" to hold me over...

I will miss my old car:
'00 Si
S2S1 cams
AEM CAI
DC Header
5zigen catback
KYB/Eibach prokit

But, I am stoked about the new one!!

I am flying from Orlando,FL to Houston,TX on Friday morning, closing the deal, heading to Honda for an oil change, and then hitting the road!!

I plan on stopping over to stay with friends in New Orleans on Friday, and then heading the rest of the way on Saturday...

I already checked the weather for my trip and it is supposed to be 75 and sunny with 0% chance of rain!!

Your Civic is really nice, sick. But, I'm sure you'll find it doesn't compare to the S.

Best of luck. Drive safely. (at least for a little while. )

Thanks... Yeah, I love that car... My little brother is taking it from me, so if I want to drive it for nostalgia's sake-- I'm sure he'll trade me for the day...

This will be my third car-- All VTEC.

I guess you could say I'm addicted to the sound/rush of VTEC...

I'm 26 now, recently divorced, just bought my house for myself and decided it was time for a sportscar... I've wanted this car since it came out, and the wait is almost (thank God) over!

Drive carefully and make sure that if you do any sleeping in the car during your road-trip, that you are stoped with the emergancy brake set.

Congrats! Becareful where you park your S overnight. Your Berlina black is sooooo sick, I am sure some scumbags would like to break into your new car and take it for a joy ride.

Oh I remember I just did the same thing your doing. I picked up my Envoy in Houston Drove in back to LA.

I think it took about 20 hrs non-stop.. But this was in a boring SUV....

Congrats and Enjoy the drive!

No you won't. You'll forget ALLLL about it.

Enjoy the wait, but enjoy the ride home THAT MUCH MORE.

Also, keep in mind that if you would have bought a new one that far away, you would have had to drive it back UNDER 6,000 RPM. (No VTEC for the first 600mi.) Trust me on this one: The two day wait is better than the 600mi one.

You're probably right...

Yeah, If I bought a new one... I definitely would have had it trucked...

I would go CRAZY laying off the VTEC until after 600 miles...

Aren't you also supposed to avoid long periods of the same gear/same RPM during the break in?? (highway cruising)

I think 1000 miles would definitely qualify as a "long period"...
