I took my S2000 into the Honda dealer two days ago to get my 7500 mi. service. What a rip-off. $60 for an oil change and windshield wipers!!! They were also supposed to check the brake pads, but it was getting close to closing so they looked behind the wheel for about three seconds and said, "They're OK." What the hell?!? Is this the service I should expect from Honda?!? I'm not taking it in for my 15,000mi. service anymore. Does anyone else feel like they've been jacked by Honda?

hey, i see that you're 16. when i was 16 (now i'm 17), they treated me really bad. they didn't do any of the work i asked them to, so i got my dad to go over there, and they were still being asses about everything. i suggest you find/figure out which dealership is the best in your town for the S2000. in houston, it's John Eagle Honda, who is also a sponsor of this site - they have the best service, and maintainance.

If they used Mobil One oil that may have been the reason for the high price.

That is just one dealer, it may be premature to label service from all of the dealership based upon just one experience.

The oil change is probably about $40. The wiper inserts are about $15.00. So $60 sounds about right. An actual 7.5K service which includes the brake inspection cost $90-$110.

A brake check at 15k miles can usually be done as a visual peek. Unless you've been on the track, the pads will alst pretty well. I'd learn to do the oil change myself...and wiperblades? come on dude, from now on, order the blades from H and A (a sponsor of the board) for about $5-6 an dothat your self too. End result? You'll learn more about the car, and save many $$$ for future mods.
One bad experience with one dealer does not make all dealers bad. Unfortunately, there are bad ones and good ones and we gotta sort through them . Good luck!

I can't believe the service of some of these honda dealerships. If I were you I would definately look around and find out who's worth going to.

Every oil change for me has been ~23 bux, that's it. Don't let them charge higher or take your car elsewhere. I find it helpful to take my car in the morning before work, and tell them that I'll be *waiting* for the car. Then I proceed to watch their every move (as much as possible without getting in their way or coming off as a customer who will tell the techs how to do their job). After the service is done, I thank them and proceed to open up the hood, make sure the oil cap is tight and that everything else looks OK. I also do a walkaround to make sure there are no scratches/dents, etc.

I am very very thankful to be close to a great-service dealership, but I *have* found a loose oil cap once, so take care to watch out for these things.
