Default I've had it...

Ever since I bought my S last May i've had the well known stupid bogging issue. Most of you know what problem i'm talking about but incase you don't: Like clock work, the very second it gets above 70-75 degrees I bog horribly off the line and the engine is jittery and slightly unresponsive in high gear while cruising. I tried figuring out the problem by myself last summer by changing spark plugs, filter, and so on but it got me nowhere. I then found this forum and other people with the exact same problem.

Though, by the time I started seeing a pattern, my car started to run fine. It was fall, and it was cool out. I just figured that when I had changed my map sensor a couple days before it had fixed the problem. The car ran great until the other day when it hit 70 degrees. Pretty much the first time we've seen a high like that around here since I last had problems. Now, my car is bogging like crazy again and i'm completely fed up.

I've spent countless hours trying to find out the problem, but it seems that everyone I can relate to can't find a solid cure for it. I find it ridiculous that no one can solve such a huge, annoying problem.

I love the S2000 at times, but frankly the car sucks. There are way too many people with this problem and far too many possibilities for what it could be.

Sorry, but YOUR car sucks. Sorry to hear this. Honestly, this sounds like the typical MAP sensor problem. You can either, tap the MAP sensor lightly, unplug it then plug it....or, just buy a NEW one(If the new one you have is used). They cost about 50 bucks and Jeff@HTG sells the updated one with the zip tie that holds the connector tighter.

I could understand your anger, but seriously, not ALL S2000's are like this. If you don't want to deal with this one, buy another S.

Clean the Intake manifold and IAC with throttle body cleaner, check all vacuum hoses, check throttle cable and make sure it's has quart inch of slack in it.

OR Rename yourself to Shaky and everyone will know why.

yeah its your car lol. high gear cruising would never heat bog since air is flowing through the engine bay. heat bog is mostly related to standing starts or sitting at stoplights... unless its WAY hot but 70-75 isnt near "hot"

70 degrees?

LOL.

you have another problem on your hands...

IAC valve, injectors is where i'd check.

do some research and be more diligent.

i'm sure a competent mechanic could diagnose and fix it.

what was the temp the day before? 50 or below? if so your car is just adjusting to the change in weather.

This used to happen to me until I learned to drive my car, never happened again. I wasnt used to a car with absolutely no torque where I have to rev the crap out of it to get starting off the line. At first I wouldnt rev it past 1k and the car started bogging. Try revving it up a bit more maybe to 2krpm. And also like someone else said and you also said it did it the first time it hit 70+ degrees in a while so it could be your ecu re adjusting it self to the weather. Our ecus are learning ecus and adapt to temperature and other things. Thats just how it is...
