my opinion is that its because of the anonymity on the internet.......

people can blast each other's cars non-stop and have no repercussions.....guys just do it to get a rise out of each other.

You meet car enthusiasts in person its a totally different story. I've taken my S to many "classic" car shows....and have had nothing but compliments. I have never heard any ricer or 4 banger comments in person, only on the internet.

Same goes for me, i'll make fun of redneck mustang owners on the net, but i have nothing but respect when I see a nicely done up domestic in person. Same goes for other import cars.

This is true, though, in Asia, Mitsu'(and Isuzu which is now belong to GM) earns the lowest respect in quality and image. Toyota, and Honda are top of the food chain, and closely fallow by Nissan(which is now belong to French) and Mazda(which is now belong to Ford). Subaru sell a very small amount of car world wide, compare to the other imports, but their quality and performance are just up their with the Big Two, IMO.

From my experiences with imports and where I came from, I agree with it. Now on the other side of the table, Mitsu' people will believe in their cars, just like I we do in ours, I can understand that.

Don't be disappointed. For us open minded people, if you think as a whole, Honda won Mitsu' hands down(heck!, you'll never see any other Japanese car offer 0 down, 0 interest, 0 payment for a year like Mitsu' and Isuzu!). But if we talking about Evo VS S2000 in a straight line?, the trophy is theirs.

Still, a different car for a different purpose, IMO, it should be compared N/A Eclips conv. with our S for apple and apple comparison, and you all know the answer........

 

I don't really read other non-Honda BB's, but all of the local people with Japanese performance cars (300/350's, Supras, WRX's, EVO's, etc) have all been really cool with me. And the riceboys love my car, which is fine, I've always thought the rice rockets were pretty cool.

I guess if someone wants to race you, then they are pretty competitive, and maybe they just don't know to shut it down when the race is over. The other day a guy in a VW Beetle (with all of the fake wannabee 911 wings and accesories money can buy) was revving on me at a stoplight, and I ignored him, because a VW Beetle is just so feminine that racing one would feel like beating on a woman, and because I'm not wasting gas that costs $1.60 per gallon on a stupid VW. Anyway, the guy flipped me off because I wouldn't race, I'm sure he told all of his buddies that his car is so bad-ass that even S2000's won't race him. Sounds kinda like your EVO guy. Some people are just annoying.

Actually, I need to clarify something. I've been back to the Evo boards and finally got a reply from the one I 'raced'. He seems to be pretty cool and also said he has newfound respect for the S2k, even though he still thinks (with good reason) that his Evo is better.

 

I hope you weren't racing on a city street? Who cares about an EVO anyway we can't help it that that's what he wants to drive.
