i'm about to buy a j's half lip from private seller but, i want to know how can you tell from the authentic one from the replica?

yea. i don't want to get scammed and pay the price for the authentic when its a rep. there's this one shop that's willing to sell their sample one to me for $100 new for the rep and he said they test fitted it and it fits good. so i might just try that out.

 

yup there is a replica out there its made by nextmod a forum sponser. I dont know how to tell the difference though

 

ask for a reciept is the only sure way to tell. the original js lip is black gell coated frp. the replica is either CF(visracing version) or white fiberglass (nextmod)

Receipt. Unfortunatly J's didn't put a authentic stamp anywhere on the lip.

Mine came in the box with hardware and a packet of broschures and a sticker.

$100 is damn cheap for a $600 lip.

 

I got a replica off ebay and it looks just like a j's. It was a little more than what you are paying but alot less than 500 like on alot of websites.

 

Just get the replica, the authentic one fits like poo.

 

I have a replica CF one by Seibon. The fitment isnt too hot either. I dont think you can test fit the lip without cutting out the fake vents on the ap1 bumper. I could be wrong though.
