I've got no problems using the J's Racing torque damper mounted underneath my Cusco strut bar. There's no compatiblity issues.

I had a J's torque dampener on my RSX. It made sense for minimizing the wheel hop associated with FWD.

Honestly, I wouldn't buy it again though. The cabin vibration was annoying.

That, and it feels like the engine mounts are stiffer in the S2K.

There was also problems with the elastomers breaking down over time.

Ahhhhh, This is what I really wanted to hear. I have a Cusco strut bar as well. No fabrication of brackets or anything?

For some reasons...the 00-01 have no problem..but it seems like the 02 and above run into a problem with the AC line getting in the way...

Non at all, all you have to do is fit the J's Racing torque damper and strut mount first, then fit the Cusco strut brace mount above it. Even the OEM bolts and suspension thread have perfect clearance. Buying the J's Racing strut brace just for the torque damper is not necessary.

Pics? I can't imagine there is enough spacing for that to work. The plates on the dampener are pretty thick.

Ok to clarify,
1. If you plan on using a STB, it'll only works with the J's racing STB unless you design your own mount.
2. Can work on it's own with no issues if you don't use any STB.
3. You can buy a predrilled heatshield or drill your own with either of the 2 above choices.
This topic has been covered many times in other posts and there are diagrams and pics but to answer your questions

1. You can buy the torque damper with a mount that will fit under a strutbar if you have one. The option is that if you buy the j's racing strutbar the left mount of the strutbar has an additional piece that lets the damper connect. There for using only plate rather than 2 plates if you choose to use another aftermarket strutbar + j's damper.
2. It can work on its own as there is a seperate plate to hold the damper in place by its self.
3. You can drill the OEM heat sheild which has been done but for around $50 you can get J's which fits perfectly and bolts right up where the OEM heat shield went.

I had the strutbar and damper combo which I noticed a difference with right away. I would recommend this product. I also noticed the vibrations more than my integra or civic so maybe compareing rwd and fwd might not be the best comparison when deciding to buy this damper as the motors sit differently.

Yes the A/C line did change a little and the reason why the 00-01 fits fine is because Vapors2k did the test fitting and his was an 01' s2k. I have heard people making small adjustments to the position of the damper making it work fine. Does this affect the performance of the damper? I have no idea but I know it is possible for the damper to work w/ 02-03 s2ks.
