Default JDM Engine question?

If I was to buy a replacement Engine for my 2002 S2000 and it was from A JDM car
would it slip right in or are there major differences because of the different Driver sides. Same question for the Transmission. I know the compression is different but would it work with my U.S.A. domestic s2000 ecu. Reason I ask is it seems that there are way more JDM s2000 engines around for sale and also have on average
a 500 to 700 less price tag.

I searched for 90 minutes and found nothing. Any opinions or links to this topic would be great.

Oh yeah $3450 for jdm s2000 (f20) engine and trans with all the accessories delivered to my house,
bad or good price? I think good. Engine and trans are used with around 40k and 60 day warranty!

Actually why would an imported motor cost less? I know they are all imported, but I really think that a good number of them as USDM motor that they are using the JDM, keyword to sell them.

But I would assume that Honda only made one block and only the one transmission. So you may have to change a few things from your car to get them to fit, but I am sure that it is all bolt on stuff.

Who's your source?

I'm asking for a few reasons,
-How do they know it's from Japan?
-How do you know they're right if they say it is?
-I can only imagine how many theft recovery shells are the origin of "JDM" engines

You'd have problems with emissions as well right? EGR, etc.

Dont think you will have any probs.

Because of the strict road worthy tests that japanese cars go through every year, prices of cars devalue alot quicker. Thats why a JDM motor is alot cheaper to buy than a local.

They are mostly the same but I think I remember something about some motors having one knock sensor and others having two. Just throwing it out there to jog someones memory.

The difference would be in the model number. Some are F20C1 and other F20C2.

I was talking with a mechanic this week, He said in Japan you have to retire an engine around 50k miles to meet emissions, therefore those engines can be sold in the US, but there is very little used market for them in japan. There are companies that specialize in JDM for many manufacturers. There was one company touring with Tunerfest.
