Default JDM Steering wheel in a AP1 US model

So I was checking out the guy from Singapore's post. and saw the pic that I shamelessly stole below. My question is, can we just swap out the out ring of the steering wheel. This steering wheel is HOT! For anyone who knows, help!

No. You have to get the whole steering wheel and it's not a simple bolt on.

I didn't say it couldn't be done, just be prepared to work at it.

By the way, that is not just a "JDM Steering Wheel", it is a VGS (or sometimes called Type-V) steering wheel. Do a search and you'll see how some owners have swapped their wheels.

^ But its not standard or even an option in the states...its only offered in Left hand drive car I believe...hence it is a "JDM' wheel.

some owners? As far as I can remember only one guy has done it, and he said it was a major PITAs just as everybody warned him it would be. The splines are different and you have to do major hacking in order to get it to work. Totally not worth the effort in my opinion, especially since you won't have VGS in the car. It'll be the equivalent of putting the Type R badge on a non-Type R vehicle.

I've heard there is no real benefit to VGS anyway
