I have the jic magic single also... Sorry to threadjack but.. im confused about how exactly the muffler is supposed to attach to the piping.. haha help me out here..
There is a clamp that keeps the muffler to the pipe not a weld. A weld would be bad here, you would have a hard time adjusting the fit and look of the exhaust. There is a stainless steel ring that goes around the muffler that keeps the hanger in place that attaches to the factory muffler mount.

I don't think that JIC makes an 80mm exhaust for our car -- they make a universal 80mm muffler, so if you are going to buy the muffler (which can range between $250-$600 depending on options) then you should have no problem with fitment, since you will have to have custom piping made.

Yeah I've since fount that out :/ I just got the 60mm piping and 90mm tip. The guy at vividracing.com said his friend had a high horsepower S2000 and that going with 3" would be overkill for my application. *shrugs*

I have the exact same setup. I purchased the car with it and I'm currently going to remove and replace with a dual Ti tip invidia. I had to change it due to a fix it ticket I got for loud exhaust.

I will say that when I had mine with the test pipe the car was insanely LOUD. I noticed that It felt faster and had better pickup. Now with my Cat in place it's lost some of it's power, but it's almost as loud. I will miss the power but I won't miss the noise and the constant smell of exhaust on me and the car when I have the top down.

At the last dyno we did as a group my car was the loudest there
We had S/Charged S2000s and turbos as well as a 2JZ twin turbo Toyota PU
and out of all that were there my N/A S2000 rang the db meter at 126db
