Jiggly Ride, Sensitive Throttle
I agree with getting an alignment done.
Perhaps your shocks are worn out?
There are many aftermarket choices for shocks and springs which could get the cars ride more to your preference.
Definitely play with the throttle cable adjustment. I did and after several tries, managed to find a setting I liked.

Thanks for the comments - I have checked the alignment and found front and rear were out - front left tyre chewed up on outer edge. Despite re-alignment and new rear tyres it still feels strange - tyre specialist says to try new fronts as left damage may cause odd feel.
On the throttle front - found adjustment helped, but if you leave too little slack the engine idle setting is affected, so have to have some slop. However, previous owner said 95 Octane was OK - changed to 98 Octane and what a difference - engine smooth, pick up less jerky - what a transformation.
So the answers seem to be - geometry and 98 Octane fuel, plus a little throttle cable fiddling.

I can't believe the previous owner was skimping on the higher grade gas with an engine with such high compression.
Yes you're right regarding the throttle adjustment cable. Too much and idle rises.
Order a Helms manual if you plan to keep the car for awhile.

@ WPS: In Europe only the RON is specified (octane number) whereas in the US is is (RON+MON)/2. 98 RON is the same as US style premium gas.
@ Dave: Try to put a little bit more slack in the throttle cable. It's really easy to do.
Cheers!
