Default Judgement call on an overrev...

I'm flying down a twisty back road, at about 65mph i throw from third into fourth...however i miss four and *somehow* drop into second. I had no idea this happened and quickly let the clutch out, only to find my back tires begin to lock, rev limiter/ fuel cut kick in, and general panic. I immediately pop it outta gear. Continuing on my way, this insane happening repeats in exactly the same way about 2 minutes later. Same speed, same mistake.

Now the judgement call...is there any way that a slight overrev (going ~62-65 each time) could have damaged the engine....?

And please dont criticize the driving, it'll only fall on deaf ears.

Thanks,
Dewey

Your engine is fine if you were only doing 65mph and dropped it into 2nd gear.

you should be ok......but doing it twice you need more practice... (not trying to flame or anything, but being honest)

65 is the top speed in 2nd before you go over redline.

you hit the rev limiter. Now, had you been going 70, you may have damaged something as the rev limiter won't help when the wheels force the engine to go over redline.

A slight over rev even to 10,000 or so rpm for a split second isn't going to damage the motor.
