Default jumping from a built 04 sti

Hey guys finally took the jump and sold the sti for an 05 silverstone s2k...a couple questions....and yes I have searched with mixed results...

besides coilovers are there aftermarket swaybars? endlinks? are they needed in this car?

whats a good header back exhayst system....dual outlet....?

looking at the stock pulley compteck supercharger..whats about the max whp before I would need em and injectors.....I don't want to invest in these...looking for about 300 wheel hp....

any onther worthwhile cheap mods? x brace?

Thanks guys....looking to have fun with the new convertable....

Upgraded suspension is not needed in this car for most people. If you mess around with it it can sometimes be worse than stock.

As far as exhausts, singles make the most power but they are louder. Some people go with duals, for less noise and looks. Both save weight, but obviously the single saves more.

With the stock comptech system with AC I'm sure you can hover around 300, most likey 280-290. When you "up" the stock system, I think 330 is what our injectors can handle. I would look at an EMS also, if you plan to make more boost.

As far as "cheap" mods, $50-400 you can get springs, shift knob, front lip, intake, megan header, Vafc, Stereo HU, hondata IMG.

The best "bang for the buck" would probably be the 4.57r gears for around ~1k. Some say you're just as fast with them as the supercharger up to 60mph. After 60 though the S/C starts to pull.

Well, what do you mean, "needed"? For everyday fun and general road handling, no, they're not needed. Do you plan to use the car for competition purposes? If so, what type?

There is very little this car "needs". I'd say that it's about as race tuned as something a normal human would want to drive daily on the street. Hell, I've got high dollar shocks, a front sway bar and an aggressive alignment but I buy cheap street tires just because the street is so boring I need weak traction just to have any fun.

I highly encourage you to participate in some auto-x or several track days to see what the car can really do. Remember, it's probably going to be more nuetral than your STI so the rear will come out if provoked.

Congrats.

sorry what is hondata img?

also is their a ecu based engine management system? I have seen AEM stand alone on the evos and besides the price they usually start like crap and have other issues...the cobb accessport for the subarus was really cool....

also was is a "safe" redline for the 04s and up? can it be raised above 8k?

It's an Intake manifold gasket. It keeps the temps of incoming air cooler, to reduce heat bog, and things relating to, well, heat.

AEM EMS is the most accepted and widely used by people going FI.

About raising the redline, I might be mistaken, but I think there are some people on the forum, using a 00-03 ecu (9k redline) with a F22 (04+) engine. And I'm sure with heavy engine mods, you could rev to 10k, but that would be very expensive, probably very unreliable and ultimately not as fast as you'd probably like.

There is also a Hondata reflash for MY06's and that raises the redline to about 8300 or 8500, I'm not too sure about the exact number.

So yes you can raise the redline, but whether or not its "safe" in the long term, I don't know. I'd do a search, or take a look in the N/A forum, and Under the Hood forum.

yeah like stated above, i'd recommend you first drive the car and figure out what you think is needed. Most people will say stock suspension is as good as it gets unless you're willing to shell out 1k+ dollars for a nice setup. Gains for any mod will suck on the s unless you go FI. 4.57 gears seem to have best bang for the buck and improves the acceleration pretty nicely. There are ways to make your ap2 rev higher than 8000, but it wouldnt make any power above that and it might not even be very reliable in the long run.... hope that helps.
