Just bought a 2000 s2k
What’s up guys , I just bought a 2000 s2k and I’m wondering what r some budget upgrades I can do to raise hp and torque if that matters just to make it quicker and more fun!

Congrats!
There are no budget upgrades to raise HP and TQ really - but there are plenty of "upgrades" you can do from intake to exhaust to cosmetic stuff to make it "better". I don't think it's worth doing any upgrades if you're looking to do it "budget". Lots of junk out there on the "budget" shelf that will ruin a good thing. I'd suggest spending that money in maintenance and bringing an older car back to snuff.
Do some reading - more than enough content online to see what's available for the car - it's been out for a "few" years now so not much that hasn't been discussed to death.

Don't upgrade just to upgrade. This car is made so well from the factory you're much more likely to hurt performance than help it by just buying some random, likely dubious, parts.
Research what really works before you buy, and upgrade for specific target, not just because you assume its 'better'.
But as for actually increasing power, pretty much the only way is an aftermarket ecu mod like flashpro, and a hfc, which will allow you to improve midrange by lowering when vtec enfages at wot.

What these guys said, don't throw money down the drain chasing inconsequential horsepower gains. If you want to make it more fun....put tires / brakes on and take it to the track.

I agree with the other posts, especially since you just got the car. You want to get a feel for the car in stock form first - you'll find it is very well sorted out from the factory.

This sounds like a setup for another thread from the Curated Content Editor...
All kidding aside, I'd change out the fluids and focus on all of the regular maintenance tasks. While these cars aren't rare by any means, there are only going to be fewer left over time. After you've gotten to know the car a bit better, figure out what "shortcomings" you just can't live with and then try to address them with the proper funds so as to not mess up a good thing — one that could conceivably hold it's value during your course of ownership, if treated well.

Learn to drive the car to it's performance ability before considering "upgrades." This is not like golf where we all know it's the clubs not us. Here it's us.
Only "budget" upgrade I can think of is a set of 17" AP2 wheels (the nice reproduction AP2V1 wheels have a thread running now) and Max performance summer tires tires.

Don't bother. Its very quick and very fun as is. Stick with 16 inch wheels and tires - the way the car was designed. Just drive it for a year or so and then see what you think about mods. Enjoy the driving.
