I had some questions though...

Is the shift boot supposed to be attached to the bottom of the shift knob or is it supposed to just freely float around? Plus it looks like the shift knob isn't screwed on correctly cuz the shift pattern is in the wrong orientation. I did a search on removing the shift knob and it states to turn the nut at the bottom of the knob, but it doesn't say in what direction. (counterclockwise if viewed from the top of the knob??).

During the purchase process the sales lady said the car can take regular gas and I hadn't checked into it yet at the time. When I bought the car they filled it up for me. I later found out that the car does indeed need premium gas. Is it usually the salespeople that fill it with gas or the service people? I'm hoping it's the service people since they *should* know more about the car.

Also with all these threads about stolen seats and such I'd like to add a proximity sensor to the car. Does the car come with any kind of alarm system on it or is it just a simple remote entry system?

Lastly, when I bought the car it already had the front license plate holder mounted. I requested to have those bumper plugs instead but they said they would have to check with the service dept, but it was closed when I was there. Are those plugs supposed to come with the car for free?

First - congratulations!

Trust the owners manual, not dealer sales staff.

I'd talk to the service manager about the gasoline & the shift knob. They should not let cars out the door that way. If that doesn't work I'd ask for the GM - nicely of course.

The shift boot is not attached and the flimsy vinyl used for the boot wont pull 100% up to the knob, but it shouldn't be able to slide much below the bottom of the knob.

First thing you might consider is to go to site sponsor Rick's or Muz acc and purchase a countersunk knob. You can also pick up a Leather shiftboot from Rick if you feel like it.

The countersunk knob is one small yet amazing upgrade everyone likes

Congrats on the purchase , read the owners manual as mentioned and certainly use a prem grade gas for this car

1. Honda recommends using premium unleaded gasoline w/minimum 92 octane. They also recommend that gasoline less than 92 octane can be used for emergency situations, i.e. when premium unavailable use a minimum amount of regular fuel so that you could get to a location and then refill with premium immediately.

2. "About stolen seats". You should use much discretion when and where you park your S. The car can be a magnet for a host of unsavory individuals, i.e. thieves, vandals, parking lot door bashing creeps.

3. The front license plate holder matching paint bumper plugs are standard equipment with car. Look for them inside your owner

I just called them up and ask the sales lady if she filled up my gas and she did...with REGULAR gas. Then she handed the phone over to her manager to try and convince me it's ok to use regular gas. I'm taking it back tomorrow to have them siphon it out. GRR.

well, certainly do as you like but one tankfull won't hurt the car at all. You can't really get aggresive with the motor for a while anyway.

If it were me I'd spend the time enjoying the new purchase rather than worring about it

(plus siphoning gas out of the s2k has proven to be allmost impossible)

Just take the Regular gas and ask for a coupon for a free fill up of premium the next time. Just haggle the hell out of them (they'll give you anything). Do it now cuz the longer you wait the less likely they'll give in to your demand. Have fun with the car.

You're making a big deal out of a little one. Don't sweat the small stuff. Your car will be OK. If it makes you feel better, just replace the regular gas you're burning with premium a couple of gallons at a time. You'll have a tank full of premium before you know it!
