Default Just brought my S2000 home!

I traded in my 01 TT for an S2K today and while I was at first sad and skeptical, this car makes me forget about the TT's very existance.

A few questions I have though...

Is there really no clock?

can anyone provide links to good daily friendly FI kits? (had the EIP stg3 kit on the TT and it was almost undrivable in rush hour traffic here in PHX)

What can I expect (if anything) to fail on this car?

thanks in advance.

I'm extremely excited to own this car. It's a real sports car unlike the TT (which was fun) that is only a sporty compact car and got old. I hope to figure out a few of its already apparent quirks like the signature Honda engine noises (VW's are quiet.) and is the differental or whatever it is supposed to make the sorta high pitched winding down sound when you decelerate from high speeds while in gear?

The clutch buzz I've never heard. To be honest I probably did hear it, but never thought anything of it. Its a true sports car that makes all sorts of noises (all of them I liked).

TT pretty but not much substance unless it was the Quattro 3.2 yeah!?

How many K's has it done. My MY00 had nothing fail. I put about 90K's on it before I killed. Not one mechanical issue.

Do you own a watch or mobile phone? They'll typically do.

Nice work BTW

yes I own both a watch and a mo bile, but its annoying, and no temp either. BTW nice color you got there

Also how about Honda tuners who aren't rice crap... I know of comptech which I'm told is reputable. Other than that I've always associated Hondas with APC, GReddy, Apexi, Wings West, and other garbage. I definitely want to mod the car tastefully as I've always done, I just am in a brand new brand which I know nothing of.

Should be a temp gauge. Bottom left.

I guess your meaning ambient temp. My 07 has one.

Can't talk too much about mods. I'd like to mod mine, but I'm wary of auto shops saying they know what they are doing and aren't.

Something about an NFR MY00. It just looks the SHIT

Anyway enjoy it.

FullRace for FI all the way
equal length mani and for the money you pay do it right the first time around.
Good luck with your new car.

Congrats on your purchase. I have same clutch buzz... there is actually a service bulletin regarding this. It involves replacing the clutch disc. BTW, it looks like either the rear bumper has been repainted on the previous owner has painted the lower molding that should be black between the exhaust pipes.

MY00 do not have a clock at all...not even in the oem radio. Time has no meaning when you are in the S2k.

Is the decel sound a whine or buzz (like a loose heatshield)? The buzz, like others said is probably the original clutch. The clutch was redesigned...a new clutch will solve the problem.

If it really is a whine that sounds like it's coming from the diff, then you might have gotten lucky and bought a car with aftermarket gears (probably the best bang for the buck mod you can make to improve acceleration). To check to see if you have gears...what rpm are you at at 30mph in 3rd gear...should be about 3000rpm for stock...if you have 4.56 gears it would be about 3300rpm.

Otherwise...change out the diff oil with LE607 to see if that fixes the whine...and hopefully the old oil doesn't have gear chunks in it.
