Default Just dynoed for the first time!

Hello all,

My car is bone stock, 10912 miles, fresh off an oil change. I did 5 pulls these are the best 2.
Really happy with the results

208.9hp/138tq with airbox open
203.9hp/133.9tq airbox closed

the other 3 pulls were 201, 202, 205(airbox open)
I just have one question, The dyno shows more power with the airbox off but when I drive with it off it doesn't feel any different. And I also did back to back 1/4 mile runs and the times were near identical. So why does the dyno show more power with the airbox off???

Thanks,
bo

With the air box cover off the intake will eventually start picking up alot of hot air from under the hood. During the test was the hood open or closed and were they using a fan?

What Jpit said, throw out the airbox open, hood open readings, it would never happen in a real world situation. How many times you plan on driving around without a hood?

Nice numbers! You're from SSF? Where did you go to dyno and how much per car?

Hmm... Had my car on a dyno last weekend as well...

About 3500 miles, stock except for a new radio.

Those are pretty solid numbers. If you can get a stock S2000 to dyno anywhere in the 200's consider yourself to have a very strong well broken in engine. Some people have dynoed as low as 185hp stock!
