You should probably post in the canadian local forums since I doubt anyone, not from canada, is up to date on their petty traffic laws.

Canada has laws on the measurements of your exhaust? I was pretty confident CA was the worst there was, but I guess not.

Depends on state / country law. If it goes by the california clean air act, technically your exhaust (be it just catback) breaks that laws so take it FWIW.

Try this argument. "It was bought in Canada therefore I believed it was legal in Canada. If its illegal, they should not be sold in this country".
If the judge agrees, maybe you can beat the rap.

this makes sense.

but how would a cat back system cause any more pollution than the stock system. It's AFTER the cat, after the cat it's all the same.......isn't it?

you have a valid point, I'm just saying from an environmental perspective.....how can a cat back cause any more problems than the stock system?

Doesn't sound like a good legal argument. But maybe "In Canada" Is this an inspection ticket? What happens after 30 days? Locally you'd probably have to get it inspected, but I couldn't image that Canada does these sort of tickets on the honors system.

Ever see 4 or 5 harley's with open pipes blow right by the cops and the police don't even give them a second look .... tell the cops that since your s2000 is small and you dont want to get squished, you made it louder so you are more visable..... worth a shot.....
