Default Just Installed a K&N Replacement

Its the the first thing I've changed on my new S and I wanted an excuse to post a pic. The K&N gets an A+ for fitment. Seems like its SLIGHTLY louder than the stock paper filter.

If you want more sound you can plug your resonator.

Just make sure you keep the cover on the airbox

Yeah, from what I read, despite the cool sound it makes with the cover off, sheilding heat is pretty important

I got it for ~$43.95 shipped from www.cardomain.com - fast free shipping

There's a hole behind the filter that goes to the resonator - you can tape it off with duct tape or so to seal it.

Keeping the airbox cover off is nice for barking the engine when you're WOT, but you do lose some hp b/c of heat soak - a nice project might be adding a rubber lip that's big enough to seal the opened box to the hood when its closed so hot air can't seep in.

Also, I suggest detailing that engine!

When I bought my car, it had the K&N filter. But the pervious owner had removed the box completely. I'm guessing it's not bad, but are there any things that I really need to worry about?
