When i bought my Gsr and my type r i noticed that they were 95% Japnan parts and 5% Us parts, not till today did i noticed that the S2k is 100% Japan and 0% U.s dont know what the NSX is the same... But in the case of the S2k then if its 100% japan parts why do we get here the yellow turn signal and the side markers in yellow also. As well as less compression pistons 11:1:0 11:7:1 something like that (please verify and repost correct info) all this is the junk we get for america, if so what in the type R and Gsr is the 5% of us parts. What is consider Us parts in other words?

Only two hondas are 100% made in Japan. The Honda Prelude and the Honda S2000. Regarding the compression ratio i would have to say emmission laws in the United States would not allow that as the engine would output non US legal smog. The orange BS turn signals are US spec because it is illegal to have clear turn signals. Orange bulbs considered still illegal. For turn signals to be legal, they must have an orange reflector as per US DOT rules and BS like that. The only car manufacturer to put clears on US cars is BMW starting in 2000. Lucky european cars i would say.

The parts percentage reflacts the origin of the parts, iow where the parts are produced. Maybe for the integra's, Honda sources some electronic part from a US company, or produces it in the Marysville, OH plant.

The US gets amber turn signals because thats what's colled for by DOT. The lower compression is from the head gasket (thicker in the US) and it needed because we get lower octane gas on average.

Yes, the Acura NSX is 100% Japanese made. As you know it sells under Acura as being the luxary line for Honda.

I would presume that the 100% Japanese parts means that all the parts come from Japan...that has nothing to do with why we have a lower compression ratio, or orange turn signals, because those parts are still produced in Japan.

Thanks for answering most questions but if i am not mistaken other countries get 250hp what would i need to get this here and is 94 octane good enough if i were to change the gasket and increase compression...what components add for those 10 extra ponies, for me passing inspection in NY not a big deal, i have ways of bypassing if were requiered to, how about those extra 10 ponies?

The JDM S is 11.7:1 250hp
The US/AUS/most others is 11.1:1 240hp

All you need to get the higher compression and hence power is a JDM (or Spoon or other Japanese manufacturer) head gasket and 100 octane fuel.

This is not an emissions issue. If you can't get 100 octane fuel, you'll knock to buggery and get about 170hp (guesstimate) as the ECU retards the ignition. You could fit a Mugen or other ECU that removes all the safeties, but then you'd better be on first name basis with your Honda dealer as you're going to need frequent engine swaps.
