Default Just a thought...

I had an idea the other day, and I was just wondering if any of you do this...or would warn me not to. Many times my trunk is completely full and I HATE having books or anything on my seat and floor...so I thought of putting one of my books and jacket behind my seats. I have a hardtop and there's a significant amount of space, but this stuff would be directly on the soft top so I don't know if that would be harmful to it. I don't mean piling stuff on there so I can't see, just maybe something small and light.

This area:

I don't see any harm in that. With the soft-top up, that area will end up with a bigger volume for you to pile more things in..., just don't retract your soft-top with stuff in it...

Details, details but he said.....

I have a hardtop and....
so how exactly is he gonna roll with the softop up?

And for me, I wouldn't put anything of significant weight back there. I jacket sure, but some of those textbooks can be big and heavy......not to mention hardbacks have pointy bindings that could settle down into and rest the wrong way against the softop material. With as much bouncing around as we do going down the road, it could just lead to problems.

Overly cautious? Maybe. Still in love with my car and will do anything to protect it? Absolutely!

I don't see much wrong with that.. seems like a common sense thing..

but.. I remember back in the good ol' days, we used to stash booze underneath the top (lowered the top over it) when we brought it back across the border..

not in the S of course..

I wouldn't throw textbooks back there, it seems like they'd slide around and what not. Why don't you like putting stuff on your floor?

I personally wouldn't do it ... just incase the books come flying around in emergency situations (hard-braking) ... I dunno ... or the top might just wear out? (okay ... I'm rambling here hehe)
