Just a quick question. I was wondering if any other 2000 AP1 owners have an oil cap that says 5w30 on it. From What we all know the ownwers manual states to use 10w30. My oil cap says 5w30. I was just wondering if any one else had this type of oil cap.

 

is it 5w30 or 5w40?

 

I think the 5w30 is an Accord weight (and many others) maybe the original got lost and was replaced with a readily available one.

 

pretty sure mine says 10w30 - but I did not check.

 

mine says 10w-30

 

btw.. why is the oil cap in the back of the valve cover unlike front?
first thing that intrigued me when i bought the car.

Theoretical answer:
As you may have notice many parts come from Honda's parts bin, the inner door handles come from the 92-95 civic. Maybe they grabbed an oil cap, didn't think about it, and had it produced with the wrong number on it? Or maybe your cap was replaced during service with the wrong one and you just noticed it.

 

Mine just says, "They present comfortable and unknown car life with ARC power" whatever that means?
