I bought the JR Filter from you and despite what you and others have posted, the JR Filter is not a perfect fit. Granted, it's very close, but it is not perfect.
Before there was a better fitting aftermarket alternative available than the JR I can understand why some people would have accepted its shortcomings. But now, with the introduction of the K&N E-2435, there is no reason to compromise anymore.
To put it simply: I own both the JR Air Filter and the K&N Air Filter. The JR is sitting in its shipping box in my basement. The K&N is installed in my S2000. I've invested in both so financially it doesn't make any difference to me which one I use.
I use the K&N because it fits!!!

Because you get better air flow into the engine from most aftermarket filters.
Better air flow = more horsepower.

Here's a link to K&N's site where they discuss Air Filter design:

S2000 Driver,
You stated "To put it simply: I own both the JR Air Filter and the K&N Air Filter. The JR is sitting in its shipping box in my basement. The K&N is installed in my S2000"
Would you care to sell the non fitting JR filter sitting in the shipping box in your basement to me for a reasonable price?
Thanks

Pat Gauss (spelling?) the master mechanic from Motor Week on PBS and Speedvision has a local radio show in DC and this topic gets raised quite frequently. Pat reports that the dirty secret from air filter horsepower gain charts is that in all cases except maximum acceleration your engine is not using all the air pulled through the filter - so you are WASTING your money (but it is yours not mine, so I don't really care), i.e. in most driving conditions you will see NO horsepower improvements. Pat does recommend their use with large trucks pulling heavy trailers at maximum throttle up mountains (doesn't see a good fit for a stook). I have not seen a dyno test proving any horsepower gains on the S2000.

1) I don't race part throttle
2) K&N is a one time life time filter, ie you buy it once, use it for the life of car. Money is not wasted if you wash it once or twice.
