Op, I'm impressed with how you've shared your story in a clear, concise and well written manner, which has become increasingly rare in web based forums. I'm also impressed with the restraint you've shown in your dealings with such an ignorant group of people as well as your apparent responsibility as a motorist (despite the fact that you sped off). That said, I cannot say that I would have done the same in a similar situation. Nor can I say that I've ever had anyone insult or or attempt to damage my car, though it probably helps that I'm 6'2, 210lbs, spend every day in the gym, and walk around with a Ranger tab on my shoulder.
