I vaguely remember a thread about this, but I could not find on with a search, so I thought I would ask anyway.

My son had a track meet yesterday, in a city 60 miles away. It was a wonderful 80 degree day, a classic top down day. One road to get there is over a mountain pass on a very twisty road. It is very lightly traveled, and they keep it rock free. There are also a couple of long straight-aways, and it is very easy to be over 100mph in no time. Well needless to say I had a great time. But I found that whenever I hit 105mph, my hat comes off. I wear a baseball cap, fairly tight, but it still will not stay on at high speeds. Does anyone else have this problem? I am 6'1", so maybe I am too tall? Is there a better hat to wear?

It sure was fun.

I know this kinda defeats the purpose of wearing a hat, but what I end up doing is turning my hat backwards... This is so I do'nt have to go get a new hat everytime I drive. I only do this on the freeway, seems like anything under 65-70 is ok with the bill in the correct direction(forward).

When your driving, tie a string from your hat to the roll bar so that when it flys off you can just reach back and get it when you slow down.

Here's a tip from one of my friends who has that problem:

Use a lanyard or any other loop of material, string, whatever and put it around your neck and then connect it to the back of your hat. If you use a lanyard that already has one of those clips on it, you could clip it to the back of your shirt instead. If the hat comes off, it won't go far!

I' with shingles, get the gangsta look and put the hat on backwards. I tired ducking my head under the widnshield more, but all it did was give me a stiff neck. Plus, if you're 6'1, I'm sure you'd have a much harder time trying to get under the windshield.

Yeah we've talked about this before, the consenses seems to be to screw the hat on. Just take if off for those high speed encounters.

For those considering putting your cap on backwards, consider this...

A few jobs ago, we were in a conference and noticed that the chief mucky-muck had this really odd half-moon shaped red spot on his forehead. I mean, it was odd and we kept looking at it until it hit us... he had been outside with his cap on backwards and had gotten sunburned through the opening in the back of the cap (which was actually up front). I'm still laughing...
