Default key fob hitting knee - any solutions?

Depending upon where I move the seat, the key fob (automatic door opener, etc.) hits my right knee and is annoying.

Has anyone a workable solution, other than putting it on separate key chain?

Buy a used 911 as a second car...ignition is on the left so you can even out any bruising...

Did you try using a shorter loop for the keyfob and keys? Or take zip tie and tie the key and keyfob together tightly. If you tie it tight enough you may be able to get the keyfob to stand on edge or even point upwards when you have the key in the ignition.

Disclaimer, I haven't tried any of these as this doesn't annoy me as much as it does you just quick suggestions while staring at my set of keys

I got a quick release key chain so I could remove the ignition key from the rest of the chain. I use this for my bikes too so that I don't have the alarm remote, disk and chain lock keys floating around on top of my triple tree. I got them at Container Store, though most hardware stores and luggage stores probably have something like it too.

Just thought of another option... Instead of a key chain use a short bolt and nut to hold the key to the remote. Should fold nicely together when in your pocket and won't hang down too far when in the ignition.

Hmm ejis interesting idea, not sure a bolt will fit in the slit on our keys though.

That shouldn't be a problem...the slit in mine is 2/10" wide. It's wider than the hole in the remote (at least on the '02...don't know if it's changed over the years). There are plenty of bolts with a smaller thread diameter than that, like say, one with a diameter of 1/10". You'll probably need a couple of washers too.

For looks, of course, you'd want to annodize the nut and bolt to match your car, or at least the brake calipers. Contrasting the washers would be a nice touch. Extra rice points for Ti fasteners, but if you use leftovers from your Erector set, you'll loose 5 hp at the wheel, and should probably consider trading in the s2k for something British.

Can you tell I'm getting a bit punchy waiting for simulations to complete?

Superglue the key to the remote with just the metal part sticking out, it'll look like those Lexus/BMW keys with the buttons on the key...
