I feel your pain. I'm out $900 from a**holes keying both my S and my GTI in the last 2 months. Seems to be a popular form of social behavior.

Did you park in two parking spots? or park slanted? or even park far away? That usually entices vandals.

Where are you located?

That is a shame. I hate to say it but the touch of paint really won't do ya justice. You're going to have to make the claim. It shouldn't raise your premium though. It's a brand new car and some bastard had to get greedy..no respect

^That is an excellent way to deal with what happened. We can't allow those people to control us to become angry and harm ourselves. I hope your car is repaired properly. Good luck!

Progressive won't raise your rates on a comprehensive claim. I've made numerous claims with them, I should know I've had my car keyed twice in the same mall parking lot. I've been involved in TWO hit and runs in the past year. My car looks like swiss cheese lol.

I hope the person that keyed your car dies of a horrible stomach cancer. People like that are truly horrible.

I just want to know... if anyone here has ever keyed a car - maybe it was 20 years ago and you were young and dumb and blah blah blah - but why did you do it? I just don't understand why someone would key a car. I mean... when I see a parked Ferrari I look at it and admire it, but I would never key it. I don't know if "jealousy" is really why they do it; I think saying it's jealousy is a cop out personally. I think there's another reason but I have never been able to find out.

We feel your pain. An earlier post to your problem suggested that you file a claim and get it repainted. This is a better idea than touch-up. Also the black will be easy to match. Good luck and good protective parking.
