Default Keys locked in the car?

I got an e-mail the other day about an easy way to unlock your car if you get your keys locked in it. Here's an example of how it works:

Let's say I lock my keys in the car. I just call up my friend on my cell phone, he answers on his cell phone. He uses my spare keyless entry remote and presses the unlock key into his cell phone. I, on the other hand, put my cell phone near the door. It takes a bit for the signal to crossover, but it unlocks your car door!

This saves people from having to drive out to wherever you are and give you a spare key. Plus it gets the job done faster.

*It works for me (using T-mobile), it may not work for everybody seeing that there are so many reasons it could fail.

uh, how do you lock your keys in an S2000?

you can't even lock the car door when the door is open, thus meaning you can't lock your keys in the car. the only way to lock the car is with you sitting inside it with the doors closed, or you outside with the remote or key with the doors closed....

Not only is it a repost, it is a bad urban legend. See here:

i *think* if you hold the outside door handle up while the door is open and reach in and manually lock the door by using the switch on the inside, that you can lock the door w/o using a key.

anyhow, i don't think the cell phone method works. never tried it but looky here:

unlock doors by cell phone myth

(of course, if i do happen to lock myself out and were really desperate, i'm not saying that i wouldn't try it out of desperation b4 calling a tow truck )

Edit: Voipa beat me to it!
