funny, I just re-read you post, I see what you are asking:

A dealer should never "force you" into anything IMO, however, If you work a deal to the point that the dealer feels that he is not making enough money on, they do request you use their financing for this flat rate. And believe it or not, the percentage of profit is often that small to where an extra 100-200 is what a dealer needs to roll the deal.

Cars are not like food or car stereo's where they have several hundred % markup. Dealers work on something like a 4-7% margin to make money from their invoice to the MSRP, that is why a few hundred dollars makes a difference.

I'm totally bored.

You are in Downey, right?

how many deals do you guys do per month?

Do you have al ot of sci fi?
I imagine you must have better crevix than we have here.

Do you guys have people who can't finance a piece of bubble gum wanting a Pilot with no money down?

I'm in Westminster, we do about 300 new and around 100-150 used.
Our demographic on the average has down payment and ok credit, we have a few special fi, but not allot.

sci fi? Please do tell...

Good thing to hear that we're not suffering as much as our domestic competitors..or even some other Japanese imports.

Hondas are practically recession-proof. This month will be a record month for our store.

Almost 4 years now. We've surpassed the Toyota store(been around for many years in the Autopark) in sales recently and we've been battling for the #2 spot in the Baltimore District. Things can only get better.

The nice thing where you are, is that business doesn't come to a halt when Winter comes around.
