KIng's Car Wins!
A bunch of us whackjobs spent the weekend up at Road America this weekend and had an absolute brain cell annihilation of a great time...
Made some new friends, saw some old ones...great racing. Everthing was excellent!
Well, at the concours d'elegance on Saturday, Luder94 and I were walking by the announcers area, checking out cars and stuff and the announcer was paging Scott of King. He had gone back to his hotel room for a minute, so we went up and asked what they needed. Well, it turns out that the King MS S2000 (the one in C&D this month) won Best Sports Car! We were all very happy for him and Brad was so happy that he nearly broke the crytal platter that was the trophy!
Here's a shot of Brad holding the award here and a few other shots as well..

Congrats to Scott for the award...we were all doing this ---->

Mingster, I'm not sure about the fiberglass version. You can ask Scott...just give him a call or email him, his business has a complete open door policy and welcome questions like this.
Here's another shot of the Mugen hardtop since a few have asked.
It weighs 34 pounds, I believe. All hand laid carbon fiber, painted on the top and the sides have the exposed carbon weave for aesthetics. It's a beautifully made piece.

It was a rough job taking care of Scott's beauty, but someone had to do it.
Scott, like me, keeps his car very clean. The track, however, is very dusty so I took the car prior to the event to the "Secret" car detailing center where I and another car detailing whackjob, Steve, gave the Mugen S2000 a one-hour cleaning like it had never seen.
The end result was a truely spectacular looking car. As I entered the event area the car was literally swarmed before I even parked and for the next three hours there was no less then 10 people gathered around the car. I met alot of great people who were interested in the car.
The trophy did take a tumble but it held up well. I heard later that evening the trophy (a crystal plate) was being used to serve cheese and crackers on.

There was a bad thing about spending six hours with Scott's car. It made me want some more Mugen parts!!! That is going to hurt the pocket book!!!
Thanks to all the S2000 owners and friends that stopped by to make beer runs for me during the show. Were it not for your support, the ending may have been different!
