The front R&L have different part numbers because of the mount for the brake line.

alright then, how come the structural cross members in the engine bay are called STRUT-tower-braces?

In cars with strut suspensions, the load of the front suspension goes to the tops of the towers. Stiffening these structures by tying them together (or even better, also against the firewall) with a brace can be effective. The name, as used in the S2000, is a carryover from the strut-car application. The brace's usefulness in the S2000 is debatable. In our cars, if anything, it's a "shock tower" brace...

Uhm, because most people don't know the difference between a shock and a strut. Or a shock tower brace and a strut tower brace.

Shocks aren't really even shocks, they're shock dampers.

And sway bars are really anti-roll bars.

People just haven't used the correct terminology for so long that the incorrect terminology has been assumed to be correct.

thanks for the clarifications on terminologies. I always got those mixed up - strut and shock in regards to what defines one over the other.

You reuse the dust cover from the stock shocks as well.
