Default konig wheels; same story??

the search continues.... konig's web site lists multiple wheel types that "fit' the s2000 and i am skeptical. has anyone installed these wheels? the "tantrum" is a great looking 7 spoke wheel and i would love to try these. the site states the 17 x 7 fronts and 17 x 8's are 5 x 114.3 and have a +40 offset; will this work??

regards

if you don't mind the weight, they're actually pretty good priced wheels (we used to sell them). +40 offset probably won't go very well with the S2000.

I`m using a +43 right now. I wouldn`t try a + 40. Konigs are decent for the price if you don`t mind saying you have Konig wheels . I just picked up some Rotas for my CRX which are the same thing.

Konigs .....ICK! They are nothing but cheap imitations of other wheel company's styles.

Bruce,
I'm running 17X7.5 Koenig Toxxins with a 40mm offset...
I happen to like the wheels a lot and I don't think they are as cheap as S2SaV makes them out to be.

Granted, if you are looking for 12lb wheels and want to spend $800 a piece, then these are not the ones you want.

I have been happy with the way they are performing but I will agree that you need more offset. On rare occasion, I will rub (I admit that) going fast through twisty mountain roads or over severe dips.

If I had to do it all over again, I would look for more offset but probably go with the Koenig Verdicts...

My 2 cents.

Well said, ZoomZoom. The Rotas I have make a damn good track rim and for $350 a set you can`t go wrong. I`ve owned Volks, Racing Harts, Blitz, Mugen, 5zigen, etc. I just want bang for the buck nowadays

Thanks vtec,

Bottom line - wheels, as with anything else for the S2000... it's 'to each their own'...

Enjoy - no matter which way you go!!!

Cheers,
