Default Last Dance with my Stook

Well, after much consideration and heart ache, I have sold my 2001 Spa Yellow Pearl Honda S2000. I was made an offer by a nice gentelman in ATL, and I agreed to meet him in Nashville last night. I am very sad. I cant describe it, its almost as it I had to take my dog to the pound or I just got a divorce, just a bad feeling in my stomach. I love that car, and there will always be a place for it in my heart, but I need a bigger house, and I am getting married and I do want to have my first child soon. Its just a sad day for me. I just ask that everyone everywhere after reading this go give your stook a hug and tell her how much you love her, because when shes gone, shes gone, and there is no replacing her. I take refuge in the fact that she has a good home and someone that will drive her more than once a day, that is what shes here for. I need to buy another car, and want to go look at a CL type S, I can get one used for 22K - 24K and that would be nice, but I am depressed and dont feel like looking at cars today. Life goes on, and Ill just take it one day at a time. I dont think Ill be around much more, its just to painful. I know it sounds crazy to feel this way about a car, but its how I feel

To all the naysayers of the s2000 that called this car "soul-less"......Is this thread about a man that fell in love with a "soul-less" car.

JS,

Don't worry, you'll find another love someday soon...you never know...at least you're replacing the S2K with one of her cousins!

Who knows she may come back into your life someday, upgraded....reminds me of the story of my fiance.

js -- what a sad post I hope sometime in the future that you are in the position to come back and purchase another S because I just don't know if you will be a happy driver without one.
Best wishes in your marriage and family plans.

It was the opposite for me.

I took my 98 silver Civic to the dealership for trade in. After 9 weeks of wait, I suddenly had doubts if I am doing the right thing, because its my first car, and it went thru soooo much good time and bad time with me, every mile I put on it is memorable ..... thats why even Silverstone Metallic looks so pretty, but to me, no other silver cars can ever replace my 98 silver Civic ....... so I got my Berlina Black and realized that its time to move on after my test drive in the S2000.

I kept my Civic's VIN, hoping it'll still be out there years later, and I am gonna try to get it back, and tell my kids that was my first car.

Hey JS

Sorry to hear it is gone. It will get better as time goes on.

gabedude - I was exactly where you were. I needed a winter car along with the S2000 and was going to trade in the del Sol and buy a cheap Civic or Accord this October. Two days before I went to trade it in, I got that horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. The del Sol had been an awesome car....and I couldn't bear to give away a perfectly good Honda with only 80K on the clock. I love that car, and in some respects I have more of a place in my heart for it than the S2000, mostly because it has been flawless (altho the S2K has been perfect so far.)

It was just that horrible feeling that I wouldn't be able to get another one, should I change my mind. I decided in the end to keep it, and I am now really happy I did.

jsyellow,

If you can contact the new owner in Atlanta, please let him know there is an active S2000 club here. He can go to www.s2000atlanta.com for details on joining.

p.s.: You can always pick up another S2000 when you have your midlife crisis. You may enjoy it even more then.

Thanks,

Good luck on finding that used CLS for $22-24K. If you do, tell me where you got it.
