Yes, they'll use features and design portions off a concept for production (usually in other cars). Sometimes concepts are straight marketing schemes and other times manufacturers build them just to show the world they can.

I've been responding to these threads ever since the days of Honda-Acura.net when some were told by dealers that the MY 2000 car was the ONLY year the S2000 was to be produced. That's one of the reasons given for such high dealer markups on the early cars. They lied - what a shock!
