Default Lawyers please, Need help with Buzzing clutch issue

I took the car in for the 3-4k rpm buzz soung to have the clutch disc replaced. The dealer calls me the next day telling me my pressure plate and flywheel are worn and that it will cost me 600 to have those installed. I informed that I knew many people that had those parts installed as a good will measure from Honda when replacing the clutch disc if they were worn. I know this, because of all the searching I have done on the boards. So the Honda dealer told me that they would contact the district service rep, he authorized Honda to cover 50% of the bill. Since then I have been on the phone with American Honda and the dealer trying to get them to pay 100%, and they wont give me the number to speak with the district service rep, i guess your not allowed to talk with him? And american honda informed me that the DSR makes the final decision, and if they were to review the case, it would take 3-5 days. Well today I call the honda dealer to ask them if they can just resurface the flywheel. I am at the frustrated point that I will pay the stupid 50% even though others didnt have to. The dealer tech tells me, "oh u didnt know????Corporate denied the 50% claim" so im like what? I told them id call them back, i called corp...but got the voicemail. Corporate overturning the decision makes no sense because Corporate told me that 1) it would take 3-5 days 2) the DSR makes the final decision. Well this is really pathetic dont you think? Know of anything I can do?

Let us know what area you're in (although I suspect you aren't disclosing this on purpose since I didn't notice it in your sig) or at least tell us the state. If you let people know, you might come across others in your area who have had similar experiences. Quite frankly, you'ld probably get better advice from people who've gone through the same hoop jumping you're going through than you would get from a lawyer. Ultimately, i think it boils down to persistence and (polite) assertiveness.

Sometimes, what they call 'excessive wear', they will not cover and ask you to shell out the dough for the new pieces. Sometimes they pick up the bill for just the labor though. However, a few .. very few .. have been allegedly scammed where the pieces weren't excessively worn. So you might want to indicate 1) how many miles are on the car, 2) if you've done clutch dumps (how often, etc. if any at all) and that could at least give me a better idea of where you stand. Otherwise, you need to go to the dealership and check out the pieces yourself, perhaps bring a digital camera and take some pictures of the pieces so you can present them.

The DSM - nope, you can't call him up, and they are very difficult to get a hold of. Some are 'ok' to work with, and the others - very difficult. It all depends on your case and how you approach them.

From my personal experience AHM almost NEVER overrules the DSM. Also I had my clutch replaced at 15k miles and pressure plate and flywheel were fine but then I don't abuse my car. As suggested I would go look at the parts. Remember you can always tell them to just replace the disk and your cost would be zero!. Also from personal experience AHM responds VERY quickly to BBB complaints. You can file online with BBB office closest to AHM hdq.

Sounds fishy to me. The exact same story happened to me when I took my car to the dealer. They said the old clutch, flywheel and housing looked worn, burned, etc and should be replaced (at my cost). It only has 15K miles on it and I never do clutch dumps or ride the clutch. Granted I take it to the autox, but those who know, dumping it off the start isn't the best thing to do since you have to make a hard right or left before the start. Anyways, I don't trust them and told them to just replace the clutch. These guys also put the vacuum hoses wrong which gave me a CEL. If it wasn't for the help on this board I bet they would have tried to screw me with some fake work to fix it.

I had the same problem. I had 15k as well. We are talking about wear items, so it is up to the dealership. I am young so they didn't even ask me if I abused the car, they told me flat out. My pressure plate was resurfaced, so I picked up the cost of parts(pressure plate,$300), they paid labor. It could have been worse I suppose. Get aftermarket parts....Don't fix it any other way.....
My car is starting to buzz more now that I am almost to 30k. Maybe we have a 15k mile clutch....Maybe a poor design for a 240 hp car. Good luck!

Wow, I see a thread on here at least once a day where an attourney is needed. But what is the main reason that nobody is willing to get one? Basically the cost ....but what if a top rated attorney was available to you for unlimited consultation, letters written on your behalf, and even down to Wills be made, at an affordable cost? That is what I am using now and it works....for those of us who have had speeding tickets (like me) this is VERY VALUABLE. I have the service myself and got clocked doing 75 in a 40 zone...the lawyer showed up in court with me and I ended paying $25 and NO POINTS ON MY LICENSE. If anyone is interested, just PM me and I can give you any information that you want. This is not just for automotive issues, for ANY reason that you would need a lawyer for....
