leaky rear diff after final ratio was put in.
I was just wandering if anyone else had this problem,
after the final ratio was put in, the rear diff keeps leaky
diff oil on the exhurst but it seems to be coming from the
top of the diff.....is there a over flow system of some kind
or has the fitter damage some seals.....

Where is the oil coming from?
Area #A or area #C?
Or from up above where the breather is as stratocaster mentioned?
The pinion seal (area #A) is not so easy to replace.
The output shaft seals (area #C) is an easy job.
If oil is coming out of the breather.. there may be too much oil in there.
Talking about oil.. what kind of oil is in there?
Honda manual states SAE 90 / GL-5 hypoid gear oil.
Let us know what you find
I had a closer look and it seems like is coming from the vent above the
diff....
I thought about the diff oil as well....spoke to honda and
the diff oil is the same as the gear box oil, the same applies to
the type R range.
It only seems to leak when I give it same stick..........
could this mean it was topped up too much and when I give it some stick
the pressure inside pushes out the extra amount of oil

you need to drain the excess.. or take it back and have them do it. The fluid should be level with the bottom of the fill plug.. so when the car is level, you lees the excess drain out the fill plug. When it stops dripping, the fluid is at the correct level. And the transmission fluid is not the same as the diff fluid.

I recommend not driving the car until you know for sure what kind of oil is in your diff.
IMO your first concern is : get that oil out of there.
(but.. don't drive without oil
)
Honda MTF (if that is what they used) is not the proper diff oil.
If you want to use a "Honda" oil you could ask them to order a (IIRC) SAE 85W-90 GL-5 gear oil from the Honda Motorcycle devision or Honda Marine SAE 90 GL-5 hypoid gear oil used in outboard motors.
Mobil makes a SAE 75W-90 GL-5 gear oil that is used by many with good results.
Maybe the oil you have in there now started to foam.
Foam does not lubricate.
(same as if you would overfill the engine, the oil get foamed up by the crankshaft and foam does not lubricate)

I think that must be the problem as I saw him drain the oil and put fresh oil in, made sure it was level as vtec9 said.
must be using the wrong oil....
is there a oil of choose that most s2ki members go for.....
I was going to check with millers or redline.....

A lot of people use Mobil1 75w90 GL-5 gear oil. Good quality and readily available here in the states. I know people use Redline, but I'm not sure which as there are several GL-5 oils from them.
