Leaky soft top

Default Leaky soft top

hey all,

due to the past 2 weeks of rain here in so cal...ya rain in so cal....i have noticed my softtop leaks from the rubber seals by the windows. this happens only on the passenger side, but its annoying. if i open the window, water drips from the rubber seal. do any of you have this problem?

such a lack of rain here, its weird to see this happeen.

i do, but on the driver side. Mine leaks from where the 2 upper sections of seal 'meet' when the top is up.

mine too...like a waterfall. It really sucks for me cuz Im a smoker, so I fixed it, but it wasnt cheap!

$18,200 to be exact!

Now I dont drive the S in the rain....but I still have VTEC!

I live in Scotland, so rain is my business

1. All the rubbers/seals on the soft top need to be treated with silicone grease periodically to ensure no water ingress. This is supposed to be a standard part of the service schedule. Most Honda UK dealers manage to forget about it though.

2. What do you think is going to happen when you open the window when it's raining FFS?

The S's top does not have a rain channel unlike other soft tops, so water will definitely come in through the windows. We still drive with the top down in the rain over here though. (Not much choice! )

Some track events require that the windows be rolled down at all times (usually to facilitate point-bys). When it is raining, you can really get soaked with the window down.

same problem here. i don't think shin-etsu would make a difference. seems like a design issue.
