4-6: The 6th gear is a long reach in the S, when compared to the other gears.

5th gear? I usually don't use it. By the time I want to shift out of 4th, the speed is great enough for comfortably cruising in 6th.

It is safe/ok for the tranny to jump from 4->6?

1-2... it likes to either clunk and it is the easiest to grind if my left foot is asleep.

1-2 by far. I have to finesse this when the tranny is cold, otherwise bunches of crunches. I've never had a manual that was this finicky about the 1-2 shift.

I pay least attention to 5-6.
I usually just skip 5th all together since I'm usually up there in speed already....

ditto

[QUOTE=Boofster,Aug 17 2006, 10:00 AM]IMO the 5th gear on this car stock is pretty useless or at least doesn't get all the lovin' the other gears get.
