Leather sun visor cover two weeks away from production
Jim Schmidt and I saw the prototype of the leather visor cover today and we loved it. A final set is being produced this week, which I'll put on my car and photograph this weekend.
Instead of supplying a visor "slip cover," which would require a zipper or some other form of closure, we're going to supply finished visors with a completely fitted leather cover that's sewn together around all four sides. So we'll be doing this as a core exchange, of sorts. If you buy the visors, we'll send you a new set with the leather covers already sewn on and you'll return your old visors to use for a credit. If you don't want to do that, you'll be able to buy a new leather covered set outright.
Prices have not been finalized, but it looks like $80-90 will be the exchange price. It will cost another $75 if you buy a set outright and keep your old visors.
For now, we will only make them in black. Red and blue will come later.

Something to think about, Airgate. The owner's manual is usually in the secret compartment though, while the visors are always in plain view. That justifies the higher quality material, IMHO. They do look nice as planned!
Airgate,
Most of the cost here is labor, not material, so using vinyl would only make a very small difference. In the case of the owner's manual case, it's the production volume that lower's the cost.

I would buy the leather visor covers if they are slip-on.
I think this would work good if the open side has perforated holes and we could use leather thread (that black waxy string) to sew the edge, just like steering wheel covers.
This would make them theft resistant and save us the core/disassembly/reassembly procedure.

We considered this, but didn't think too many people would want to sew them together. If enought people do, we'll offer it, so post if you're interested in this option.
