left over 2009 question
I have always admired the S2K and now they are out of production time is running short if I want a new one. My question is, there still are a few 2009 new leftover 2009 models in some dealerships, what would be a fair price for one? Best I have been able to get quoted so far in a little above invoice $33,600.
That seems a little high to me as they were not exactly flying off dealer lots in the last year, however I thought some one here might be able to educate me on price.
Thanks for any help
Peter

Well, realize that you are not the only one that feels that way. As fewer new S2000s are left, dealerships may try to capitalize on that desire of yours and place a premium on the existing cars they have. So ask yourself how much are you willing to pay to satisfy your desire to own a new S2000.
Good luck!

You are buying miles. How many do you want? I bought my Ridgeline new with 11 miles. My 01 s2000 came with 53,000 miles, but only cost $12,000 used.
My friend is having a kid soon, he hasn’t told me he is going to sell his yet, but I know he will. lol

how much are you willing to pay to play. make them an offer, offer them 28,000. I'd probably take it for 30K if i had the doh. People claim to have paid 28k or less for 2008 CRs(new) last year. I've seen 2008 base model in the low 20's, CRs in the mid 20's.
Depends on how many miles are actually put on the car.
Invoice on the car was 32400 IIRC. When it was new last year, I bet you could have negotiated the car down to 30k flat maybe even 29k. Given that the car has now no longer the current model year (2009 in 2010). Factor in depreciation. I would say a 10% deprecation is probably about right for the car. It would probably drop another 15% or so the following year until it hit a plateau of around 22000 USD or so for a 3 year old car with less than 20,000 miles.
I think Kelly Blue Book or one of those types of sites has the depreciation mapped out on s2000s.
For myself, I'm trying to get a 2009 used S2000 (any color, with less than 10,000 miles) for 28k all in (I won't be paying sales tax as I will be exporting the car to Canada).
For a 2008 with less than 15,000 miles I have about 25000 to 26000 USD in mind.

if you tell them 31k, it will be bumped to 32-33k automatically. offer them 28-29k first. keep in mind, those asses will never be serious until they played enough. never give them your real offer until the last minute.
28k for a never driven 2009 s2000 maybe a bit optimistic. I think 28k for a used one with leas than 10,000 miles is a fair price. Then again it depends on the dealer and how desperate they are. With spring around the corner they are not going to be. Unless the area you are in is still in economic hardship.
